Dr. Kaycee VanEtten Carney, OD, joined Phoenixville Eye Care Specialists in 2024.
Dr. VanEtten Carney is a full-scope medical optometrist. She grew up in Northeastern Pennsylvania and attended Shippensburg University where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. She earned her Doctor of Optometry Degree with honors from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University. During this time some of her training involved delivering medical eye care to our veterans at the Allentown Outpatient VA Center.
After graduation, she continued her focus on community outreach by practicing full-time mobile medical optometry care to home-bound individuals in and around Philadelphia. She came to us from another optometry practice in the region.
Her area of expertise includes diagnosing and managing ocular disease, treating ocular emergencies, and helping patients manage glaucoma, diabetes, and macular degeneration. A particular area of expertise is the treatment of complex dry eye and blepharitis including the use of punctal plugs, amniotic membranes, and other novel technologies. Additionally, she is trained in the use of Orthokeratology to retard the progression of myopia.
Dr. VanEtten Carney is married and enjoys an active lifestyle that includes hiking, volleyball, and yoga. She and her husband, Sean, share their home with a rescue dog, and in 2025 they welcomed their first child, a daughter named Quinn.
